It's hard to believe that at 3.5 weeks my little man is already growing up! Yesterday, Daddy B and I were commenting on the fact that Little B is starting to have some of his newborn clothes fit fairly snuggly and they probably won't last many more wears before they are too small. Out of curiosity, when I was getting Little B dressed this morning I layed his 0-3 month outfits over him to check out size. Thankfully, I didn't have to bust into tears because most of them were either too long or too wide still. It made me feel better about still having my little baby in tow. However, the organic onesies (these are sized smaller than cotton ones as observed by having some of each) and a couple tops in 0-3 will now fit him. It's hard to believe that in less than a month my little boy has already grown so much! I'm contemplating going to the hospital on Tuesday for the breastfeeding check-in just because they do weigh ins there and I'm curious what his weight is now.
On another growth front, our little boy is very alert and active. He has always enjoyed his bouncer, but he's also enjoying his own mini playground on his play mat. His favorite is the little zebra which he will bat back and forth for quite a while. He also is scooting himself around on his back by pushing his legs around. He's got really good head control and can hold it up for quite a while. He rolls his head side to side to take in everything. But, he hates tummy time! The most we've got out of tummy time is a few minutes. I've even tried getting down on the floor with him for tummy time, but he won't have it! We will keep trying and see if he becomes more interested as time goes along.
In the last couple days, he's started giving little smiles and "talking" back to us during our conversations with him. It's so exciting watching his development and beginning to have him interact with us more. It's so neat to watch him stare at us and our surroundings with such interest. I have never seen a baby so early that's interested and alert like Little B is. Of course, with his sleep schedule only being 7-12 hours versus 16-18 like a baby typically is at this stage, it's no wonder! He has to fill the time somehow.
I am still enjoying my time at home with Little B but looks forward to Daddy B getting home after work to be with us. It's very trying with him working almost 40 hours per week, needing to spend time at home applying for jobs and still going into campus to work on a freelance project. Spending quality time together has been minimal this past week. I will be very excited when Daddy B finds a job and completes his freelance project so that we can spend more time together as a family. Since Daddy B's still working towards finding his dream job, I put in my official "notice" of my return to work this past week: March 3. This way, I will go back mid-week and won't have to be gone from my boys so long. Dreading the next 6.5 weeks flying by...but loving every moment of watching my little man grow along the way!
Hey! Just wanted to say i love reading the updates about the little one. Glad you guys are doing well! He sure is cutie! :-)
