August Update

So, August's update, here it is! I am trying so hard but it seems I can never catch up and stay up to date! We started off the month by celebrating our anniversary. Daddy B made a lovely Jamaican style dinner that we shared with Little B. He had surprised me with a lovely bouquet of roses when Little B and I came back from a quick run to the store. Then, we went the next day to a comedy club. The atmosphere was nice as was the food. The second comedian was good but the bookends were a little too offensive with constant cussing and disabled/homosexual jokes. So, moral of the story is that I'd go again but would want to know more about the comedians first. Bring on the start of year four! May it be much better than the last and help us grow into the individuals and couples that we want to be.

Little B had yet another upper respiratory infection. It seems like any small cold gets into his chest so quickly. But, he never lets it slow him down. We went on lots of walks so Daddy B and I got tons of exercise. And the reason for all these extra walks? The boys have reached a whole new level of fighting. Mine, ahhhh, I WON'T SHARE AND I'LL TAKE IT FROM YOU BECAUSE I CAN! So, we are working on sharing, more timeouts are occurring and more deep breaths for Momma B and Daddy B.

And the sleep issues have continued! I am so jealous of parents that have kids who sleep. I constantly question what have we done wrong. There are so many people who have kids that sleep have no idea the struggles of us that don't and never have. And don't say cry it out works because even two minutes and he's more awake than when I left him almost asleep. He's never been a sleeper and so it doesn't surprise me but some evenings (especially when I need every minute to work/take a break here or there after a long day), it is just too much. And I don't feel like any advice I've read or books I've read cover to cover have helped because the books help under a year and over 3. In between those ages, cry it out seems to be the only solution. We are still dealing with 3-5 wakeups (after the 30-80 minute rocking session) compared to 5-7 before he turned 13 months and we did a VERY strict schedule. Only tip I learned was 6-8 is preferable bed the with 7-9 at latest. We shall see!

Momma B got jury duty. I actually got excited once I got there (I was juror #15 in the lineup) but the guy got a plea deal at the last minute. However, I was amused while there. This one guy called into his work and said he's not sure how long he'll be because it appears to be a scam to just shuffle us in and out and make us wait. Then when he got off the phone he went on and on about how the justice system is stupid. I really don't think he has to worry about being picked (EVER!) Another lady commented to me she wants to pick a lawyer who walked by based on his good looks and confidence but wouldn't know how to find his name in the phone book. I could tell her based on him being well known in my old neck of the woods as scummy among other things. So, all in all, jury duty was an amusing morning for me!

Little B loves to help in the kitchen. He will stir and mix and get ingredients. It's amazing how well he can lift a gallon of milk!

Last summer day in the pool!

Daddy B smitten with Baby E

We went to an Indians baseball game for a surprise birthday party and it poured. Little B absolutely loved it and was the only kid dancing in the rain until some older girls joined him. He thought it was a splash park! After the rain stopped, people were pointing him out as the rain dancer as he ran by!
