Even more changes...

Change. It's a part of life. It's an even bigger part of an infant's life. They are changing all the time. Little B is no exception. In fact, some days, I feel like he is taking the idea of change too seriously. For instance, on the six month chart, he is doing everything (turning to sounds, imitating sounds, rolling both ways, ready for solids, passing objects from hand to hand, starts crawling, jabbers, drags objects to self) extremely well except for sitting without support. He can do it, just not for long!

And the latter part of these are only done by a few kids the same age. Stranger anxiety is apparently a seven month issue for 50% of kids. Apparently, Little B didn't get that memo either and started earlier. Crawling is on the 8 month or later chart. Guess what?! Little B started that last Friday. And anyone who knows Little B knows that he is off the charts in the verbal department. My apologies now to all his future teachers!

My point with all this (what some would deem ;)) bragging? Little B's goal in life is to grow up very quickly. I'm sure of it. It's always exciting to see what he's going to do next. However, (and this is a big however!) it's also very sad because he's growing up way too quickly! Tonight, I went back in for the third time to put his binky in his mouth and as I had my hand placed on his back to comfort him, I started tearing up at the little boy laying in what should have been my baby's crib. He put on big boy pajamas for the first time tonight due to outgrowing his sleep sack because he's the length of a nine month old and has been since he was four months old. Apparently, that length caught up to him because I've been packing away outfits here and there over the last week. Which will likely result in having to get some 12 month clothing for summertime. 12 month clothing is so off in sizing! Most of it is so huge compared to the 9 month that it's ridiculous! I'm hoping that we can hang on to enough 9 month clothing that we won't have to worry with that. I may be wishing a change upon us - FALL - so that we have the right season of clothing!

Some new things this month: he LOVES watching our front loader washer and dryer! In fact, tonight when I was getting him ready for dinner, I'd sat him in his highchair and he was giggling watching them. Why do we even bother buying children toys?! Also, he's started having his teeth brushed. He wasn't quite sure what to think the first time but takes it like a champ now!

On another note, we had surprise visitors last Thursday evening - Nana and Granddaddy came up to visit! And then, we went to Evansville this last weekend because my family from NC was coming to visit. Momma B made a stop in Indy for a meeting while Daddy B, Little B, and Nana enjoyed a nice afternoon on the canal. Momma B would have much rather been with them!

It was a nice visit and Little B enjoyed time with his grandparents and great-grandparents including his very first sporting event - watching Uncle E play basketball! However, due to all the entertaining he did, he was quite the grump butt in the evenings and on the ride home. Momma B and Daddy B have decided from now on, we will limit our visits to extended morning or afternoon visits versus packing him up in the car for short jaunts. He doesn't seem to handle those too well and it makes for a very rough trip home! But, we're home again and settling back into normal life.

We did six month pictures today with the K's and finally got a family picture taken of Daddy B, Momma B, and Little B again. We haven't done that since Little B was 6 weeks old! Pictures to come late next week...We also had our six month visit today to the doctor. Little B was not at all impressed with them and screamed louder and longer than ever before. Poor little guy came home and took almost a two hour nap (VERY out of character for him), was up for a little over an hour and has been in bed ever since. Momma B goes back to work tomorrow after enjoying a very extended weekend. Sigh...

    Dear Bre,

Thank you for keeping us up to date on Landon and thank you for the great pictures. You are so right about Landon's desire to grow up. He is really motivated to keep moving and growing.

    Love to all, Ana
